FAQ

Q : Should I rent a car ? A : Absolutely not, Taxi’s and Uber are 10/10. Once you get downtown you will likely walk most places!

Q : Should I transfer pesos in the US or there? A : We often transfer a small amount initially in the United States at our local bank, to cover the initial taxi ride from the airport, and maybe your first meal, and then hit the atm later. There are tons of ATMS in the city to use.

Q : Can I use my debit card? A: Yes! Most restaurants take debit, but you’ll get the worst conversion rates that way. We like to stick to pesos for mostly everything we do bedsides fancy dinners or activities that can be booked online. This helps us budget… and also- Pesos are like a work of art, much more fun than handling US dollars!

Q: How far does my money go there? A: $1 US dollar is equivalent to approximately 20 pesos. To easily convert Pesos to dollars, drop a zero and divide it in half. Your Margarita says it costs 120 pesos? That’s about $6!

Q: How do I get from the airport to the accommodations? A: You will take a taxi. There will be a ton of them available OUTSIDE of the airport. DO NOT TAKE a “free taxi ride” from the people inside the airport. These are time share sharks. Say “No Gracias” over and over until you get outside of the building. There is a window to the right where you will get an official taxi slip and wait for your assigned driver.

Q: How much is the taxi ride from the airport to downtown? A: This is the most expensive taxi ride you will drive in, besides the route back to the airport. Expect $30-$40 USD each way with tip. This is an airport surcharge, and most taxi rides will run you $5-10 around town.

Q : Is the street food safe? A: Yes, very. Prepare to pay $1-2 per taco, for the best tacos you have ever had!!!! (be warned salsa in Mexico is HOT!)

Q : Is tap water safe ? A : No. You will be drinking primarily from water bottles while out and about. Gallons of fresh water will be provided at the Air Bnb’s

Q: Is it Safe? A: Yes we have been five times together and Sydney’s family has been coming since the inception of Puerto Vallarta. While every city has its crime the downtown areas of PV are extremely safe, the romantica district of PV is among the most friendly LGBTQA+ hubs in the world! Walking along the boardwalk, amongst the cracks and crannies of market stalls and interacting with local vendors is encouraged!

Q: Are kids invited? A: No.

Q: Can guest bring a plus 1? A: your invitation states the +1 accommodation or not, reach out for questions. contact us.

Q: Communication while in Mexico ? A : We will be getting a group chat - What’s app as well as recommending reaching out to your provider to make sure date roaming will operate correctly

Q : Where Should I stay if not with Airbnb 1 & 2 ? A: We recommend Airbnb for the lowkey in and out, the neighborhood we are residing in, is known as the 5th of December or Centro. This is located between the romantica zone and the hotel zone. Hotel zone is filled with high rises and large pools, romantica zone is more boutique hotels scattered around newer condominium Airbnb’s and night clubs.

Airbnb’s we recommend:

room for 12! (also has a 6-person option)

beautiful view for 2!

plunge pool included!

Hotels

Sheraton Bunganvillas - closest option and walking distance to boardwalk
